A fond crafter, I like to create and up-cycle whenever I get a free minute or two. I love the joy of being able to say ‘I made that’ and the pleasure of giving heartfelt, homemade things to family and friends. I also have a near-obsession with skirts and dresses and a love of London (my home), charity shops splurges (when for half an hour I can feel rich), and my cat, Dee.
As a magazine editor, writing is both my trade and my ‘thing’. So it seemed only natural that I started writing about my hobby, which is making stuff – be it embroidered clothing, jewellery or numerous presents, which I relentlessly force on pretty much anyone I like. Bless them.
I would love to tell you that the aim of my blog was to pour my essential craft knowledge and expertise onto the world so that folk like you could learn how to make, bake and sew like a true Stepford wife… but in reality it’s all a learning process for me. I started this blog to document my projects and all the things I’m learning along the way. Hopefully I will look back in years to come and realise what a dumb-arse I was making things the way I did.
Of course, a great extra to blogging is being able to see what others are doing and to natter to those with similar interests. So, if you’ve wandered on here, please ‘hi’ and let me know what you’re up to!
